News Flash - Gulf Operations Out for 4 to 6 Months
By: Rowan Wolf
I just watched Wolf Blitzer interviewing Robert Reich. When asked how long he thought it would take for oil operations in the Gulf of Mexico to get back on line, Reich gave an estimate of 4 to 6 months. He also mentioned that there was a lot of damage and that a number of wells would need to be re-drilled. This is very bad news given the amount of gasoline, heating oil, and natural gas comes through the Gulf.

I am not surprised. I think it will take more than the 6 months. Hurricane season still has yet to wreck more havoc on the world, namely the Gulf of Mexico. They will have to wait out coming storms before they can get started... or might try to start only to have their plans thwarted with storms.
It is no surprise that politicians are still so intent on letting oil drive the economy. Falling flat on their faces does not seem to have educated them at all. Unfortunately, so many of us have to fall with them.
