Citgo
By:
In light of the record profits the major US oil companies are making and how much support they are throwing behind the Bush mis-administration might I suggest buying what gas you have to from Citgo. Citgo is a U.S. refining and marketing firm that is a wholly owned subsidiary of Venezuela's state-owned oil company and you can find a local Citgo gas station with this tool(update: only put in City and State, the zipcode search appears to be broken).
By buying what gas you have to from Citgo you sidestep the major oil companies, bypass the force importation of oil from Canada (read: NAFTA), avoid sending any money directly to the client states in the Middle East, and supporting a government that is using the oil profits to to support Venezuela's democratic government efforts to provide health care, literacy and education, and subsidized food for the majority of Venezuelans. Of course minor detail that Bush's buddies tried to overthrow the democratically elected government Venezuela only adds the desire to direct money towards Venezuela and away from Bush co.

According to the tool, my closest station would be in Vancouver, WA ... that's just too far to travel for gasoline, but I love the idea of it. I'd love to know if there are any other companies like Citgo that are closer to me.
