My name is Rowan Wolf and I am a long time social activist. I was at one of the first Earth Day events. At that point I lived in Kansas City, Mo. Which is where I was born and raised. I read Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" when I was in high school and it was critical in making me aware of what we were doing to our environment.
I am now a person of many hats. I have a doctorate in sociology and teach that discipline at Portland Community College in Oregon. I am also a researcher and writer and am passionate about our need to change the direction we are going. I truly believe that the issues of oil depletion and global warming are not only potentially catastrophic events, but issues that can bring the entire globe together for our mutual survival - and the survival of the life that shares the planet with us.
